Questions and answers

Is Morniura Sudoku really free?
Yes. All board sizes, difficulty levels, daily challenges, and the global leaderboard are free, with no sign-up required. Ads only appear after you opt in, and you can disable them at any time from the consent settings.
What are the basic rules of Sudoku?
Fill the empty cells so each row, each column, and each box contains every digit exactly once. 4×4 uses digits 1–4, 6×6 uses 1–6, and 9×9 uses 1–9.
When does the daily Sudoku refresh?
Daily Sudoku refreshes at 00:00 UTC, the shared worldwide day boundary. Players around the world receive the same puzzle for a given UTC date, board, and difficulty.
Why is the daily score scoped to UTC?
Fair global ranking requires everyone to solve the same puzzle within the same time window. Using UTC ensures the same release date and deadline for every player, regardless of local time zone.
Which board size should I start with?
If you're new to Sudoku, start with 4×4. It teaches the rules and note-taking in 1–3 minutes per game. Once comfortable, step up to 6×6, then full 9×9 classic Sudoku.
How is the score calculated?
Live score builds as you fill empty cells, then elapsed time and mistakes shape the final score. Clean runs earn a bonus, and hints and notes do not affect score. Zero-hint daily runs enter Official ranking; runs with hints are separated into Assisted ranking.
Do hints hurt my ranking?
Hints do not reduce your score. They use hint items instead, and you can top them up with points when you run out. Daily runs with zero hints enter Official ranking; runs with one or more hints are listed separately as Assisted.
Does it work well on mobile?
Yes. The site is tuned for mobile and tablet, and installs as a PWA from the browser's add-to-home-screen menu. Limited offline play is supported, and iOS Safari can enable push notifications once installed.
What do I get by creating an account?
Guest progress lives only in the browser you're using now. Create an account and your stats survive switching or losing a device, your daily streak won't break, your leaderboard nickname stays yours, and you won't miss weekly mission rewards. Guest play still covers every core feature without an account.
Can I replay a daily puzzle for a new ranking?
Only one best run per ranking type, UTC date, board, and difficulty counts. Zero-hint runs are Official, while runs with hints are Assisted. You can replay the same puzzle in practice mode, but that run will not update your ranking.
